| Mr Luby and his team had the contract for painting and
decorating our 140 year old stone cottage. There was the
need to finish by Xmas and the added urgency of readying
the house for a wedding reception in the first week of
the New Year. Despite a start delayed by the building
contractor, Jonathan and his team "pulled out all
stops" and did a magnificent job, having everything
ready in time. An extra challenge was a limestone wall
that had been painted with a 1950's pale green paint.
Rather than using expensive and messy high pressure water
jets, Jonathan painted the wall a lime render colour and
then highlighted and coloured the individual tones so
that the wall became indistinguishable from its non painted
neighbour. He also rose to the challenge of restoring
a formal sitting room, the walls of which were papered
with a collage of cut-outs from 1910 era news magazines.
The flour and water glue had been attacked by silverfish
and there were bad cracks in the underlying plaster. Jonathan
replaced the worst damaged prints with archival pictures
downloaded from the internet and disguided lesser damaged
areas with neutral "touch-up" paint, achieveing
an excellend result. Clearly, Jonathan Luby is no ordinary
housepainter but a true master in his field. We are delighted
